Keep Your Eyes on Jesus

"…Let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us, we do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus."

Hebrews 12:1,2 (NLT)

We enjoyed the New Year arrival with our grandchildren. They viewed, via television, the count down into 2004. It took a bit of explaining to our young grandson when he discovered we were still in the old year in our part of the country.

Another hour ticked off the clock and we cheered again, thanking God for loving us as the New Year roared into Central Daylight Time. Completely exhausted at that late hour the happy grandchildren were soon asleep.

Early New Year’s Day, seven year-old Levi startled me with these words, "Grandma, is it 2004 in Trumann?" I knew his youthful mind still did not comprehend the magnitude of the different time zones. He wanted to be sure it was 2004 in the small town south of us where he lived. I assured Levi that indeed it was 2004 where his mother and daddy were.

It is now 2004 where you live too. From the far east, to way down south or in the western world it is now 2004. God has given us the new beginning of another year. Our hopes, dreams and goals can be renewed and recommitted to Him. Give them all to Jesus. Don’t dwell on the failures of the past. Start anew in 2004.

Begin with a personal relationship with Jesus and that will transform your life. Read His Word everyday. Commune with Him in prayer and seek His will for your life. For 2004, in every time zone around the world, you can live victoriously by keeping your eyes on Jesus.
