Three
year-old Brooke,
our youngest
grandchild, was
spending the day
with us. My
husband and I love
having her. That
one-on-one time
with the
grandchildren is
so precious. It
was lunch time and
all three of us
were snacking and
enjoying one
another at the
kitchen table.
Brooke
looked at her
granddaddy and
than at me and to
our astonishment
she said, "I
am going to stay
with you forever
and ever." It
thrilled our
hearts that she
would be thinking
such pleasant
thoughts about her
grandparents.
Jerry
answered her by
saying, "But,
Brooke, your
mother will be so
sad."
That
didn't phase
Brooke one bit.
"I would call
her," she
replied quickly.
Wrapping
my arms around her
in a spontaneous
hug I thought,
Lord, that is how
I feel when I
spend time with
you. Quiet,
quality one-on-one
time, praying,
reading your Word
and listening to
you speak to my
heart. At those
moments I am
anxious for that
day when I will go
to heaven to live
with you 'forever
and ever'.
Even
though it might
leave my earthly
family a little
sad at the time,
you will comfort
them with your
Holy Spirit and
assure them that
all is well.
Thank
you, Lord, for
precious
grandchildren who
love us so much.
And remind us of
the Heavenly
reward awaiting
those of us who
love and know you
as our Personal
Savior.
