Our daughter
teaches fifth
grade at a small
Christian school
in our community
of several
thousand people.
The pay is small
and there are no
insurance or
retirement
benefits. But
God has called
her to help mold
the lives of our
future
generations. The
curriculum is
awesome as
spelling, math,
science, history
and all other
classes are
Biblically
based.
Some days she
wonders if
perhaps she
should seek a
position
elsewhere where
the financial
reward would be
much greater to
help raise her
two children.
But when she
seeks God’s
guidance, he
always assures
her that she is
precisely where
she should be at
this time in her
life.
And then
there are days
when God
confirms it
through her
students!
School had
been dismissed
and she was
helping with
afternoon
pick-up duty.
Rain or shine
the students
must safely be
gotten into
their parent’s
vehicles. It had
been a tiring
day teaching a
new math concept
to the energetic
boys and girls.
God knew she
needed a word of
encouragement.
Tassie
Lee is an
adorable fifth
grade young lady
who has been a
joy already this
school year.
Driving slowly
through the long
pick-up line her
mother said to
our daughter, "Tassie
Lee told me she
has decided when
she is grown she
wants to be a
fifth grade
teacher."
What an
awesome reminder
from a young
student that God
had chosen her
to share the
gift of
teaching. In an
instant her
tiredness turned
to gratefulness.
It was not
because she
deserved it but
because God had
planned long
before the world
began for Jeri
Sue to teach His
truths on a
daily basis.
What gift has
the Holy Spirit
given you?
When you use
the gifts God
has given you,
you will find
that God gives
you the power
and strength you
need. Begin now
to use your
gift.
